Hs brother?

WEll, I;m in 5th grade. My brother is in 9th grade. I am a very different 5th grader. I kind of know whats going to happen if you get bad grades. You can't get into a college, you get into a bad one, get a bad job, and so on. Most 5th graders don't even know what happens if they get good grades. haha. Anyways, my brother is having a very hard time in High School. He has a rock band, cellphone, myspace and facebook. All that stuff. My mom took away his texting on his cellphone, but he still isn't getting good grades. I don't want help, I want to know WHY he is this way. I am getting much better grades than him, even though i'm in fifth and he's in ninth grade. Can someone tell me why he isn't motivated to do homework? Also, there is this high school he wants to go to where all his friends are at. That high school won't let him in because he has bad grades. Tell me why, and can you tell me if he keeps this up, what his grown up life will be like? Just predict. No future telling though!

well based on personal experience moving from 5th grade to 6th grade it was pretty bad and my grades went down like a roller coaster and 5th grade is MUCH easier then you expect. 9th grade is more like when people want to have social life and dont care about their grades. I personally am not motivated to do homework. he's normal, he wants to hang out with friends rather then go to school.

Easiest way to put this is he is in his getting to his full blown puberty stage. When your in the 5th grade you are just starting to experiment with things, and your brother has already been throught the social drama,school drama, and is probaly working on personal drama now.High school is tough, you got to manage hard work(classes), social life(friends/relationships), and future(part of your ??). Sometimes it can be a big stress, just be there for him and help him when he needs it. Compliment him when he looks down, if you raise his spirit it just might help him do better right? Oh and the whole homework thing, thats high school...it just happens eventually but a good study habit will help that.
