Death Cab, Postal Service, Ben Folds, John Mayer, U2, Amy Winehouse, Queen.

You should listen to CAKE, they're awesome and I think you'd like em. Hellogoodbye, too. If you want something *really* different I recommend the New Pornographers or the Unicorns. My all time favorite band is They Might Be Giants, but they're much dorkier than any music on your list. ;)
