I need your opinion!!!?

There is this guy who sits behind me in math. We always talk to eachother because he's a funny guy. He saw my drawings and said that he wants me to draw his cover for his band's next album. Ever since, we've been talking, and I checked his band out on myspace, and I told him that they're pretty good. And now he says "hi" to me all the time, and he asks if i could work with him when we can work in groups. My friend told me that he always stares at me too... I have also noticed that a bit... He also looks at me in the eyes when we speak... And after class, he always asks me to wait for him, and we talk for a bit longer...

So... Do you think he likes me? I'm a bit confused...

Duhhh!!! Of course he likes you. The thing is that guys are insecure, shy, and not always sure of how to approach a girl. If you have some interest in him, let him know. Maybe you could suggest that you go watch his band perform or something that doesn't put you and him alone together for a long period of time. He will probably be relieved that you like him too, or at least that you are willing to get to know him a little better. Sounds like he just needs that extra push.

He sounds like the typical shy guy who doesnt know how to ask you out. idid the same things he did when i really liked this girl when i was still in school. I would look at her during class and then dart my eyes away when she saw me, i always sat next to or as close to her as I could during class, I told her to wait up after class and I walked her to the train. The band thing was like an opening for conversation and now you are getting closer. I can almost guarantee 100% he is jst too shy to ask you out.

Since you've both complimented each other, that seems very positive. It sounds like he thinks you are talented. Relationships are complicated. Remember that the opposite sex likes things to stay a little mysterious. Keep with your art and your friends and when he is ready to come forward, he will. You sound like a great girl.

Has the term "Hard Rock" lost its meaning?

With some of these bands on myspace and when others classify them as "HARD Rock"...and their more pop %26amp; far from hard rock. I think the term %26amp; the genre is too lose %26amp; has lost some of its meaning. I feel like hard rock should be a step down from "Metal" %26amp; if the music is heavier than that then theres "Heavy Metal". Some of these bands need to be clasified as just "Rock" "Soft Rock" "Classical Rock" "Pop" or maybe a whole new genre. When i think of "Hard Rock" i think of "its not quite metal", a tad softer than metal. U2 to me is not "HARD Rock" neither is Nickelback %26amp; others imho. What u think?

Nickelback used to be hard rock, go back to their old stuff and you will see that.

I think too many critics are labelling bands as they see them these days, but thats critics for ya.

I think everything has got too confusing in terms of labelling, they either need to simplify it or give it up all together.

Me?... i dont even bother with labels anymore, if i like the sounds i like it....no matter what its tagged as.

besides, if you stick to the genre, with all the 'looseness' these days, your gunna miss some good stuff, simply because it is labelled as something else.

Too many bands that SHOULD be classified as "mainstream rock", "alternative rock", "modern rock" or "radio rock" are being labeled as "hard rock".

I try not to pay too much attention to what genre each and every band out there claims to belong to, but sometimes its brought up and I have to agree.

And I got some friends form Lineville who really rock it out. Bryan Carter and his brother Dave have a band called BrownBag. They have great songs. Bryan has played with the Gaither Vocal Band, The Esters and many others, which don't 'rock'. But he grew up listening to the same stuff we did, so he really rocks on his own stuff. He is also in the Alabama Music Hall of Fame.

Carman is good but a little outdated. Chris Tomlin, Delirious, Tree63, Leeland, and Newzboys are more current and have both loud rock anthems and softer songs. Hit your local Christian bookstore and you'll find CD's and sheet music. Also, try visiting www.ksbj.org and listening in. It's a Christian station in Houston, TX. Sunday morning is all P%26amp;W, Saturday night is loud.

The masses don't want complicated music. They want something easy to get the hang of. All an artist needs to be on a major label is a melody that gets stuck in your head and the ability to recycle that same melody over and over, thus making more money. Commercial "music" is not about the music, there is no feeling. There is an exception in some cases, but like I said. Record Labels want get rich quick schemes, not people who actually care about the music.

Good techno songs???!!!!?

There are very few truly techno songs with lyrics. Techno is generally a 'lyricless' genre.

There's hard dance that really resembles techno, and is not like the bands you mentioned above. Hopefully you will like some of the songs below:

Come Into My Dream - Foggy (This one is a techno song, its one that I really like, and it has lyrics.)

From Paris to Berlin - Infernal (This one's one of my favorites, and yes, it has lyrics. Its an actual song with lyrics.)

Here Comes the Rain Again - NRC (A little more trancy, but still upbeat and fun to listen to. It has lyrics.)

Sandstorm - Tunnel Alliance /Darude/Countdown Singers/Sound Range (One of the classics. chances are, youve heard it. Many artists have done different versions of it, but I believe the original is by Tunnel Alliance. It does not have lyrics.)

Believe - Antiloop (A classic techno song. Very good, though it doesnt have much lyrics.)

Around the World - ATB (This is actualy more dance, but a fun song nevertheless. You might like it. It has lyrics.)

Sweet Dreams - Eurythmics (again, dance but pretty good. It has lyrics.)

I Love My Sex - Benny Benassi (this one doesnt get good untill the middle of the beginning, but Its one of my favorites. Techno, with some lyrics and an altered voice)

Secrets (Club Mix) - 4 Clubbers ( Truly Techno, with some lyrics. Its 6 mins long, and the actual song starts at about 2 minutes.)

Turn it Up - Robots in Disguise (It sounds somewhat like a distorted pop/techno/dance song. Like a not-so-perfect radio transmission. Give it a listen. Its an actual song, with a nice melody)

And something bit on the darker side (yes, its still techno) :

Futile (resisted) - Velvet Acid Christ (this one is mostly a few samples as lyrics, but not many. It's a great song, and there's a few other versions of it, but this one is my personal favorite.)

Destroy Me - Unter Null (I love this one. Like a guy mentioned above, German techno is one of the best kinds of techno. This song is in English though, and it does have lyrics.)

Hey I recently started posting videos on YouTube. My first video was so sucessful, I was on the most viewed and most subcribed list of this week. What can I do to expand my audience even more. I posted the video on my myspace, digg, several popular myspace bands, facebook, friendster, and some more. Anything else I can do. I believe I have the potential but I need to be seen. Do any of you know how to record stuff on a computor using a microphone?

i have a band profile on myspace and id like to use my computor mic. to record a song, but i dont know what program to use on my xp.

i use MusicMatch Jukebox. it's free and it's a nice little program (and it comes loaded on most computers anyway). there is a tab on the program called "Record." the default source to record from will be one of your CD-ROM drives, but you can just change that to "Line In." it is now set up to record from your mic. just hit the Record button and start singing... or making fart noises, or whatever it is you want to record.

i believe you can also record using Windows Media Player, but i'm not sure.

3)Open Audacity/MusicMatch/whatever.

i asked him to sign on to the account and he refused. so i tried to get the password from e-mailing gmail. then he had a complete fit. so, i started thinking, what does he have to hide? we've had issues before in the past including: him speaking inappropriately with a girl from his past saying stuff like, 'you are my muse...you are just so wonderful and great. he also even asked her not to add me to her band's myspace.' and another time he get drunk and started kissing (like on the cheek) another woman in front of me talking about how wonderful she is. i was furious. this is the thing: he is so jealous of me but his behavior is unacceptable and unfair. i gave him 15 minutes to sign in the account or told him i'm leaving. he refused to. so i'm going to leave tomorrow, but he keeps saying how silly it is. am i right?

Online flirting is cheating. Leave. He is obviously hiding something, and you are not important enough to him to be open and honest with. Me and my husband share an email. Hs brother?

WEll, I;m in 5th grade. My brother is in 9th grade. I am a very different 5th grader. I kind of know whats going to happen if you get bad grades. You can't get into a college, you get into a bad one, get a bad job, and so on. Most 5th graders don't even know what happens if they get good grades. haha. Anyways, my brother is having a very hard time in High School. He has a rock band, cellphone, myspace and facebook. All that stuff. My mom took away his texting on his cellphone, but he still isn't getting good grades. I don't want help, I want to know WHY he is this way. I am getting much better grades than him, even though i'm in fifth and he's in ninth grade. Can someone tell me why he isn't motivated to do homework? Also, there is this high school he wants to go to where all his friends are at. That high school won't let him in because he has bad grades. Tell me why, and can you tell me if he keeps this up, what his grown up life will be like? Just predict. No future telling though!

well based on personal experience moving from 5th grade to 6th grade it was pretty bad and my grades went down like a roller coaster and 5th grade is MUCH easier then you expect. 9th grade is more like when people want to have social life and dont care about their grades. I personally am not motivated to do homework. he's normal, he wants to hang out with friends rather then go to school.

Easiest way to put this is he is in his getting to his full blown puberty stage. When your in the 5th grade you are just starting to experiment with things, and your brother has already been throught the social drama,school drama, and is probaly working on personal drama now.High school is tough, you got to manage hard work(classes), social life(friends/relationships), and future(part of your ??). Sometimes it can be a big stress, just be there for him and help him when he needs it. Compliment him when he looks down, if you raise his spirit it just might help him do better right? Oh and the whole homework thing, thats high school...it just happens eventually but a good study habit will help that.

Paul struck right chord after rejecting acting

ROSS musician Paul Ewing may not have completed his first album yet, but he has already established a young fan base up and down the country.

Unfortunately for him they are more likely to be glued to Cbeebies than heading out to snap up his CD when it hits the shops.

Appearing in more than 200 episodes of the children's television programme, Tikkabilla, may not seem the most obvious route into the music industry but for musician Paul, originally from Evanton, it has certainly borne fruit. He has not only just returned from LA where he worked with one of Scotland's top producers on tracks for his new album but he could be in line for a music industry award 閳?all before he has even been signed up with a record label.

Turning his back on an established acting career, which also saw him working with the Royal Shakespeare Company for several years, wasn't an easy decision for the 31-year-old, but certainly isn't one he has lived to regret.

From the age of only five, when he took his first piano lessons, it was clear where his destiny lay.

"I think my parents probably saw me banging pots and pans together in the kitchen at our home in Kiltearn when I was young and thought they better do something constructive about it," Paul recalled. "I started piano lessons and continued with those until I was 11. When I got to Dingwall Academy I took up the trumpet and french horn."

It was his self-confessed lack of discipline when it came to putting in the practise time, that gave him an early incentive to start writing his own material.

"I was very ill-disciplined and never really got into playing the classical work usually associated with those instruments so I started writing my own pieces and just continued doing that," he explained.

Despite his love for music it looked as if his career would take a different direction when he went on to study a dramatic arts degree at what is now Edinburgh's Queen Margaret University College.

"I was too much of a maverick about my approach to music and there was no way I was going to get into music college unless I did my music grade exams.

With a regular appearance on the Cbeebies channel and parts in a BBC education programme, early indications were that the acting world would work out well for him. But as he explained "I did it for a few years until the music bug took hold of me".

His father Bernard, a former art teacher at Alness Academy, who now works at Raddery school, and mother Iona, a district nurse, both still live in the area, having moved from Kiltearn to the Black Isle. But Paul left for the bright lights of London seven years ago where he has since landed a residency at a Leicester Square venue and been shortlisted for the Best Soul Funk Act in the Indy Awards which take place on Tuesday. The awards are aimed at recognising the venues, promoters and artists involved in the independent music scene.

Although now enjoying early success with his new band, made up of four core members, his first attempts proved a little too ambitious to carry off.

With 13 members, including a string quartet, the band proved too big and unfortunately didn't survive long.

Learning from his early mistakes and having considerably downsized with his new band, which have been on the go for a year now, things are already looking positive with a first album and the Indy awards to look forward to.

Google the name of any famous person then right click on the picture you like and save it to your file. Then go to pimpmyprofile. Under my space layouts click "my space editor" then click "background" and upload the saved image. You can position it how ever you want, then generate the code and paste it anywhere in your "about me." It's the coolest. And really easy to do.

You should listen to CAKE, they're awesome and I think you'd like em. Hellogoodbye, too. If you want something *really* different I recommend the New Pornographers or the Unicorns. My all time favorite band is They Might Be Giants, but they're much dorkier than any music on your list. ;)
