I have a song that I have mixed that I would like to be able to post somewhere free so that others can listen to it, but they can't download the file %26amp; swipe it!

I think you used to be able to do this on Bolt, but I just went to their website %26amp; you can't even upload music anymore.

Please don't tell me myspace. I'm not a band, just someone who mixes %26amp; edits music.

That can't be accomplished. If they can hear it, they can capture it.

Anyone with a programme like "Replay AV" can capture any streaming content (both video and audio) that they can access.

But really, what's the difference if they download the song and listen to it, or whether they listen to it as it streams? And if they are going to post it to another site, that's no different (functionally) than linking to your site.

You could copyright it which would make it illegal for anyone to post it to another site, or otherwise distribute it. They could still legally download it for personal use or link to it from their site however.

It all started with this pervy teacher who filrted with my friend in class by making her stay after class and leaning and sitting on her table in class. Then he left leaving her his email address, she also flirted back with him so no one feels sorry for her.

He then joined a one man band (lilterally) and is somewhere on myspace, he makes his songs and puts pictures of terrorists and bombs and dieing children on there and now he is out to get us because as a joke we sent an email saying we are a fan of his music but our friend that flirted with him told him the thruth and we used to be in his class and he knows who we are and is out to get us what should we do?

If not then how did they find each other?Did they start off as a garage band and then post their 'good' music on the site?

After they got signed, then what happened? Did they record their album? tour? sit around?

Details please but don't drag on. simple but with details.

I am not totally positive how they started. I know they are all from a suburb of Chicago. So they're all from the same area. They came out around 2001 area. I know they built an initial fan base in the Chicago area so I am guessing local boys who were discovered. (Hence why my favorite shirt say Fall Out Boy: Chicago Soft Core). I know they were first signed by Fueled By Ramen. The first time I saw them in concert was in there Boise show opening for Mest. So they toured with them I believe this was in 2002/2003. I know that they recorded an EP and then later released Fall Out Boy's Evening Out With Your Girlfriend. I think this may have been released by them but I am not sure. The first CD they had that got any major play was done with Fueled By Ramen after they signed with them. That CD was called Take This To Your Grave (and is still there best in my opinion). The song Grand Theft Autumn was there first big hit. It閳ユ獨 what made me by a CD. They had a video for that song that received play on the music station FUSE. So yeah. I don't think myspace had a thing to do with there formation though. I saw them before I heard of myspace. But that means nothing. They're still currently with Fueled By Ramen but on there last CD they were also on with Jay-Z and some rap label. Not sure at all who that is. Sorry. So I am pretty sure that the internet wasn't how they got started. Just the classic playing and getting discovered then going on tour and building a fan base. I know Wikipedia has a decent article on them. Though how much you can trust that I don't know. It閳ユ獨 short in my opinion. Sorry I couldn't help you out more.

I visited a relative in England last month, and befriended a local band. Unfortunately, I now have a gigantic crush on the lead singer. The band and I are friends on myspace, and have conversed a for about a week. The lead singer is the only one that goes on the myspace, and usually he signs his name at the end of each post. I just got a message from him, and he signed the post with the band's name instead of his own name like he usually does. Am I reading too much into this, or should I be offended? Is he trying to send me a message that he's not interested or something? Thanks for any help :D

I use iTunes, but they're no good for underground bands/artists.

I use MySpace for my online downloads but they don't always have what you want. I did use limewire and ares but all they do is crash your computer so I want to stay as far from peer to peer as I can and for me this is the best way to do it.

So my question is, does a site that is SAFE and online exist?

if so, any sources?

i dont know about louisiana, but most states will let underage people play in bars. they are considered entertainment, not patrons. check out booking agents and talent agencies. you can send out info to highschools for proms and homecommings. include a song list and a picture would help. we used to rent a hall,advertise in the newspaper and charge a cover at the door. we were really successful in places that usually didnt have anything like that on a regular basis. you can build up a good following that way. it would also help if you cut a demo cd and send it out in your promo packs. i wish you the best of luck, i would love to see live bands take over the djs. it doesnt take much talent to spin cds, im sick of them taking the place of hard working talented musicians.

Emo is something that used to be cool and have nothing to do with cutting and acting like a self-absorbed miserable piece of **** and everything to do with music and a community of kids into the same type of emotive punk, hardcore, or alt rock. In time, thanks to the media of course, this became a commercialized exploited piece of ****. Now anyone who wears black or listens to one or two songs of a band who wears black is considered "emo". Now emo is associated with wrist cutting, which used to be something certain types of depressed people, no matter what clothing they wore, did often. Now its a fashion, due to the media causing modern teens to crave attention more than ever. Off of the new "emo", branched a truly evil terrible corperation (my term for a label) called "scene". Scene kids are just kids who are trying to be emo and fail. They listen to lame music that attemps to embody some of the worst aspects of the music of the post-punk/post-hardcore era and fail dismally, sounding like a bunch of screechy whiny chipmunks. They also look terrible, have haircuts that look like badly drawn anime characters, often looking like a mullet, but never called that, because its too "eighties" for them. People who try to be scene are just people who are trying to be failure fake emo's. Its really quite pathetic. Its very much a crime that some new-emo and all of scene take the music aspect and make it only half or less than half of what it means to be in that sect of a musical community. Now its all about the fashion. Its basically horrendous.

the term "emo" is short short for "emotional". "emo kids" (now n days) are just ppl with high emotional depression that feel isolated from others and there for resort to cutting them selves or suicide.

scene is just a different branch of emo. not the same thing but almost the same style. many ppl cant tell the difference(which makes me mad cuz i hate being called emo) between em because the whole "cover my face with my hair" look.

What I am upset about: My husband won't add me to his myspace. He joined a few weeks back while we were having a HUGE fight %26amp; he didn't talk to me for a week. I guess he overheard me mention his new myspace during one of my phone convos, because the next day he made his myspace private. Before he made it private, he had several female friends on his page. No dudes. I don't know if they are girls he knows in real life or what. We've since made up but he still refuses to add me, defending his "deny request" as him only using myspace to "look up bands and otherstuff."

I'll admit, I've been feeling quite insecure lately because of a slight weight gain from being on birth control (which I have subsequently changed - and am working on losing the lbs!). I'm also the jealous type - I try not to be, but I won't deny that I don't get bitchy sometimes.

This isn't even about myspace, it's about my husband pretty much HIDING something from me. Ladies/Guys, how would you feel?

There is something very wrong with this. You need to start detatching from this guy quickly and try to move on. 7 months is way too soon to have so many problems and for him to have cheated on you. In all honesty...I'd be pissed. Why wouldn't he add you if it was as innocent as looking up bands. Speaking from experiance, I know that one main reason guys are on there is to flirt with women they've never met because it makes them feel like they have their "MOJO" back. It's just a game. While fighting over myspace can sound immature, there's a much larger issue behind it that needs to be dealt with. What's the harm in adding you? Would he like it if you had certain things you "hid" from him?

Besides, the myspace issue is nothing in comparison to the Vegas story. That's divorce-able activity. If he didn't cheat, why would he tell someone that he did? Shouldn't it be the other way around??

Honestly I dont think you guys should even be having a myspace, especially if he wont add you. Myspace has too much eye candy; its almost like porn and is unhealthy for married people. Although I'm not a big fan of that genre, I'd have to say the songs were pretty good, especially for an unsigned band. All the instrumentation and vocals were tight throughout the recordings.

The only criticism I would have is that the 2nd and maybe 3rd song seem to be mixed/mastered at a lower volume compared to the other tracks.

Did you professionally record the tracks or did you record them yourself?

Paul struck right chord after rejecting acting

ROSS musician Paul Ewing may not have completed his first album yet, but he has already established a young fan base up and down the country.

Unfortunately for him they are more likely to be glued to Cbeebies than heading out to snap up his CD when it hits the shops.

Appearing in more than 200 episodes of the children's television programme, Tikkabilla, may not seem the most obvious route into the music industry but for musician Paul, originally from Evanton, it has certainly borne fruit. He has not only just returned from LA where he worked with one of Scotland's top producers on tracks for his new album but he could be in line for a music industry award 閳?all before he has even been signed up with a record label.

Turning his back on an established acting career, which also saw him working with the Royal Shakespeare Company for several years, wasn't an easy decision for the 31-year-old, but certainly isn't one he has lived to regret.

From the age of only five, when he took his first piano lessons, it was clear where his destiny lay.

"I think my parents probably saw me banging pots and pans together in the kitchen at our home in Kiltearn when I was young and thought they better do something constructive about it," Paul recalled. "I started piano lessons and continued with those until I was 11. When I got to Dingwall Academy I took up the trumpet and french horn."

It was his self-confessed lack of discipline when it came to putting in the practise time, that gave him an early incentive to start writing his own material.

"I was very ill-disciplined and never really got into playing the classical work usually associated with those instruments so I started writing my own pieces and just continued doing that," he explained.

Despite his love for music it looked as if his career would take a different direction when he went on to study a dramatic arts degree at what is now Edinburgh's Queen Margaret University College.

"I was too much of a maverick about my approach to music and there was no way I was going to get into music college unless I did my music grade exams.

With a regular appearance on the Cbeebies channel and parts in a BBC education programme, early indications were that the acting world would work out well for him. But as he explained "I did it for a few years until the music bug took hold of me".

His father Bernard, a former art teacher at Alness Academy, who now works at Raddery school, and mother Iona, a district nurse, both still live in the area, having moved from Kiltearn to the Black Isle. But Paul left for the bright lights of London seven years ago where he has since landed a residency at a Leicester Square venue and been shortlisted for the Best Soul Funk Act in the Indy Awards which take place on Tuesday. The awards are aimed at recognising the venues, promoters and artists involved in the independent music scene.

okay so I have been deciding on what i should get either between a ps3 or a labtop but my parents said to chose only one of the 2 options because of course they don't have like a whole lot of money. I want both but I can't decide on one. My ps2 is really messed up and now i can't play my video games. I could always play on my brother's but he like hogs the freaking thing most of the time!!! My dad never lets me play his psp. i really miss playing video games even though i am a girl i am still a fan. i don't know much about the ps3 but i heard it was good. but if i buy a labtop i can download music and videos for my ipod, put my band videos on myspace and chat with friends, play like a million games and so much more. so what should i pick, please help!!!!!!

For as much as a PS3 costs you can get a laptop good enough to play World of Warcraft, or most any other PC game that you want. And there are a lot of games that don't cost moey to play. The PS3 would only play the games that you go out and pay more money for. So I would suggest going for the laptop. ^^

well, go for a laptop. u need to change from gaming world. plus, u will know how easy u can play with computer compared to ps2 or ps3. i am a big fan of imac. playing on computer is much easier and much better, i have been playing games since 1993 on computer, but i also own ps2.. but there's nothing like it.

Well, if you need a computer that bad, you should buy yourself a laptop since its more important, and you can play games on it if you want. I own a xbox360 which I think is better (and it 200 bucks cheaper) than the PS3. The 360 also has better games, by the end of this year there will be tons of great games for the 360. Gears of War is the best game I've ever played((only for 360)). I also own a PSP, it is the best handheld gaming system YET!! WAY better than the Nintendo DS. But it is all about your opinion.

i use MusicMatch Jukebox. it's free and it's a nice little program (and it comes loaded on most computers anyway). there is a tab on the program called "Record." the default source to record from will be one of your CD-ROM drives, but you can just change that to "Line In." it is now set up to record from your mic. just hit the Record button and start singing... or making fart noises, or whatever it is you want to record.

i believe you can also record using Windows Media Player, but i'm not sure.

There is this guy who sits behind me in math. We always talk to eachother because he's a funny guy. He saw my drawings and said that he wants me to draw his cover for his band's next album. Yes, but (and I always say this...) the vocals need a little "sweetening" - some reverb or chorus or both. Kansas thought "Dust In The Wind" was filler material - you never know what is going to become a hit. Good luck!

I listened to about a minute and a half of it and didn't hear anything I would consider radio worthy. I am a musican also and I am just answering your question truthfully.

I really liked the music. Great up beat tempo, that I am sure rocks the live fans. The double guitar line was B A. (Bad ***) I thought the singer had a great rock voice. Sounded almost like the singer from Ratt. I just didn't hear a very good melody. Melody is what makes a song radio worthy. I do think there is talent here. Don't get me wrong. There is this guy who sits behind me in math. We always talk to eachother because he's a funny guy. He saw my drawings and said that he wants me to draw his cover for his band's next album. Ever since, we've been talking, and I checked his band out on myspace, and I told him that they're pretty good. And now he says "hi" to me all the time, and he asks if i could work with him when we can work in groups. My friend told me that he always stares at me too... I have also noticed that a bit... He also looks at me in the eyes when we speak... And after class, he always asks me to wait for him, and we talk for a bit longer...

So... Do you think he likes me? I'm a bit confused...

Duhhh!!! Of course he likes you. The thing is that guys are insecure, shy, and not always sure of how to approach a girl. If you have some interest in him, let him know. Maybe you could suggest that you go watch his band perform or something that doesn't put you and him alone together for a long period of time. He will probably be relieved that you like him too, or at least that you are willing to get to know him a little better. Sounds like he just needs that extra push.

I would look at her during class and then dart my eyes away when she saw me, i always sat next to or as close to her as I could during class, I told her to wait up after class and I walked her to the train. Since you've both complimented each other, that seems very positive. It sounds like he thinks you are talented. Relationships are complicated. With some of these bands on myspace and when others classify them as "HARD Rock"...and their more pop %26amp; far from hard rock. I think the term %26amp; the genre is too lose %26amp; has lost some of its meaning. I feel like hard rock should be a step down from "Metal" %26amp; if the music is heavier than that then theres "Heavy Metal". Some of these bands need to be clasified as just "Rock" "Soft Rock" "Classical Rock" "Pop" or maybe a whole new genre. When i think of "Hard Rock" i think of "its not quite metal", a tad softer than metal. U2 to me is not "HARD Rock" neither is Nickelback %26amp; others imho. What u think?

Nickelback used to be hard rock, go back to their old stuff and you will see that.

i agree though, hard rock should be a step down from metal...not quite there.

I think too many critics are labelling bands as they see them these days, but thats critics for ya.

I think everything has got too confusing in terms of labelling, they either need to simplify it or give it up all together.

Me?... i dont even bother with labels anymore, if i like the sounds i like it....no matter what its tagged as.

besides, if you stick to the genre, with all the 'looseness' these days, your gunna miss some good stuff, simply because it is labelled as something else.

Too many bands that SHOULD be classified as "mainstream rock", "alternative rock", "modern rock" or "radio rock" are being labeled as "hard rock".

I try not to pay too much attention to what genre each and every band out there claims to belong to, but sometimes its brought up and I have to agree.

Check out 'He Will' or "shutup", people seem to like those a good bit.

And I got some friends form Lineville who really rock it out. Bryan Carter and his brother Dave have a band called BrownBag. They have great songs. Bryan has played with the Gaither Vocal Band, The Esters and many others, which don't 'rock'. But he grew up listening to the same stuff we did, so he really rocks on his own stuff. He is also in the Alabama Music Hall of Fame.

Carman is good but a little outdated. Chris Tomlin, Delirious, Tree63, Leeland, and Newzboys are more current and have both loud rock anthems and softer songs. Hit your local Christian bookstore and you'll find CD's and sheet music. Also, try visiting www.ksbj.org and listening in. It's a Christian station in Houston, TX. Sunday morning is all P%26amp;W, Saturday night is loud.
